David Oosterloo is from the Netherlands. His NF has manifested itself in several different ways including having about 7 or 8 neurofibromas (bumps). One is rather large and hangs on his lip affecting his teeth. Although this one is not painful, it is the most tedious one for him as it makes him look “different”.

NF has has also given him severe scoliosis. The doctors have inserted two iron bars into his spine to help correct it. The downside is that his shoulders and lower back are taxed more because of the bars. David’s lung capacity is 70% and he tires more quickly than other people. His eyelids are droopy and he suffers from hyperventilation and panic attacks from having NF.

David has started an online NF support group in the Netherlands and works closely with NF Mid-Atlantic. He also is known for building challenging Lego constructions and towns. David has an extensive collection of Legos and is always adding new buildings and rearranging the configurements to create new environments.
